MESH

Combining Multiple Systems for Improved Accuracy

Trusted Collective

MESH is Trusted Positioning’s collaborative positioning capability. It enables multiple positioning systems operating on the same platform to share positioning context, supporting continuity and consistency within that platform - particularly when individual sensors or signals are constrained.

Why MESH Exists

Modern platforms increasingly contain more than one positioning-enabled system.

A single vehicle may include:

A telematics positioning system
An ADAS positioning system
A mobile device carried inside the vehicle

A single person may carry:

A smartphone
A smartwatch
Smart glasses

Each system operates independently, even though they share the same physical environment.

MESH was developed to support platforms where multiple positioning systems operate together on the same vehicle or the same person, enabling them to exchange positioning context rather than operate in isolation.

Improved Accuracy on Multiple Systems, Same Platform

On a single platform, multiple positioning systems may rely on:

  1. Separate GNSS receivers

  2. Separate inertial sensors

  3. Independent sensor fusion engines

Even though they experience the same motion and environment, they interpret positioning independently.

This can limit:

  1. Alignment between systems on the same platform

  2. Consistency across applications

  3. Visibility into positioning behavior within a shared environment

How MESH Works

MESH combines multiple individual systems on a single platform to form a single output with more accuracy and availability

Position estimates

Motion and inertial insight

Confidence and constraints

This shared information supports positioning continuity and consistency within that platform while avoiding infrastructure-heavy dependencies.

An Example: MESH of a Multi-System Vehicle Platform

Consider a vehicle where a single user operates multiple positioning-enabled devices at the same time.

For example:

  1. A vehicle equipped with TRACK

  2. A smartphone carried by the user in their pocket

  3. A smartwatch worn on the wrist

  4. Smart glasses worn by the driver

Each device operates with its own sensors and positioning capabilities. these systems - operating on the same vehicle platform - can participate in a shared positioning context.

Rather than treating each positioning engine as an isolated unit, MESH enables context exchange across systems experiencing the same motion and environment.

An Example: MESH of a Multi-Device Wearables

MESH also applies to a single person carrying multiple positioning-enabled devices:

  1. A smartphone

  2. A smartglasses

All devices are exposed to the same movement and environmental conditions as the person moves. MESH enables these systems to exchange positioning context while remainingindependent positioning engines.

Who MESH Is For

MESH is designed for teams building platforms that contain multiple positioning systems operating on the same physical entity, including:

Automotive platforms with telematics and ADAS systems

Consumer platforms with multiple wearable devices

Integrated systems where several INS/GNSS engines coexist on one vehicle or person

If your platform includes more than one positioning system, MESH is designed to support coordination within that platform.

Where MESH Is Applied

MESH is not deployed as a standalone product. It is designed to be applied within Trusted Positioning solutions, including:

In each case, MESH supports architectures where multiple positioning engines coexist on the same platform.

Why MESH?

MESH supports positioning architectures that emphasize:

Shared context within a platform

Alignment between co-located systems

Consistency across applications operating on the same vehicle or person

Efficient system-level performance

By enabling collaborative positioning within a platform, MESH strengthens coordination while preserving independent device-level intelligence.

Improved Accuracy on a Single Platform

As modern vehicles and wearable ecosystems integrate multiple positioning systems, MESH provides a collaborative framework designed specifically for intra-platform coordination.

It is an architectural capability built to support how integrated platforms are designed and deployed.
